Here’s what’s happening at the Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre

We hope that you had a great summer and are excited to be starting up our programs and activities again very soon! The office will be closed on Labour Day, but the regular programs will run as usual, and the main floor will be reopened to reveal our new look! Be sure to read to the bottom so you don’t miss out on anything and, as always, check out our website at https://wallaceburgadultactivitycentre.ca/ for our current schedule and information about our programs.

PepperPepper will continue to run every Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30am as well as Friday evenings and every other Wednesday evening from 7-9pm.

EuchreEuchre will continue to run every Monday afternoon from 1:30-3:30pm.

KaraokeKaraoke is starting up again September 4th! Every Monday evening from 7-9pm there is lots of talent and fun to be enjoyed by all.

TriviaEvery Tuesday evening, starting again September 5th, we have Trivia from 7-9pm down in the multi-purpose room. Come out to learn some fun facts and test your knowledge!

Drop-In Sewing CircleDon’t forget about our Sewing Circle every Tuesday morning from 9:30-11:30am. Bring out your projects and friends for a time to socialize and work together! We have just about every sewing tool you may need available. The WAAC also has a limited number of sewing machines, as well as 1 serger on site, but availability is not guaranteed, so feel free to bring your own machine.

Outdoor GamesContinuing until September 12th, we will be outside Tuesday mornings from 10am-12pm with a variety of games (weather permitting), so bring your friends and let’s enjoy this nice weather while we can!

Cribbage15-2, 15-4, how many points can you score? Our Cribbage program runs on Tuesdays at 1-3pm and prizes are given out for top scores!

Wii BowlingWii Bowling happens every Wednesday afternoon from 1:30-3pm down in the multi-purpose room.

CrafternoonsJoin us every Friday afternoon from 1:30-3:30pmfor an afternoon of crafting! We have lots of special ideas planned that you won’t want to miss. On the last Friday of the month we meet at 2-4pm.

Fall Wreath Workshop with WendyOn September 16th, from 1-4pm, Wendy will be here to walk you through how to make your own Fall wreath! Registration is required for this workshop, so be sure to register today to save your spot.

Our next footcare day is Thursday, September 28th.Footcare Nurse Denise Kenny will be in to take care of your tender tootsies. Appointments are required and fill up fast, so contact the office to get yours!

September Birthday LuncheonCome out to the Centre Friday, September 29th to celebrate all our friends who have birthdays in September! You will have your choice of soups, sandwiches, coffee, tea, and, of course, cake and ice cream! Lunch will be served at noon and registration is required.

Cricut Workshop – Shadow BoxesJoin Victoria on Saturday, September 30th from 1-4pm to learn how to put together a custom shadow box! A unique piece to decorate your home or give as a gift. Registration is required and space is limited for this workshop.

Pool TablesAll fresh and ready to go beginning this Saturday! Regular availability is Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm. Saturdays & Sundays, 9:30-12:00.

Fitness Equipment

Available Monday to Friday, 8:30am—5:30pm (unless the Centre is closed). No reservation needed. Indoor shoes required. If you would like to use the equipment outside regular hours, you can purchase a key fob for $10 and access the Centre from 5am to 11:59pm 7 days a week.

ChoirEvery Wednesday from 2-4pm our Choir meets at St. James Church in Wallaceburg.

Ping PongWe still have Ping Pong happening every Tuesday afternoon from 1-3pm!

Kayaking Only two weeks left to come out and Kayak with Wendy and Silke along the rivers of Wallaceburg! We meet Wednesday mornings at 9-12pm. Registration is required and spots are limited. Weather permitting.

PickleballPickleball is held at Wallaceburg Christian Reformed Church every Wednesday from 10-1pmand Thursday from 1-4pm. There will be no Pickleball on Thursday, September 14th.

YogaWe will still be running Zoom Yoga with Annie every Thursday morning, starting September 7th, from 9-10am as well as Mindful Movement and Hatha Yoga with Beth every Saturday morning, starting September 9th, at 9-10am and 10:15-11:15am!

VON SMART with MikkiJoin Mikki every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning, starting September 11th, from 10-11am for a great workout to start your day!

Beginning September 14th, Line Dancing will be held Thursday mornings from 11-12pm. Space is limited, so make sure you register today!

Bus Trip to Stratford FestivalLast but not least, just a reminder that we are going to Stratford Festival to catch the fantastic performance of “Rent” on October 20th followed by a delicious dinner. We’ve got plenty of spots still open, so don’t miss out on this incredible experience. It’s the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in outstanding theater and make some unforgettable memories. Invite a friend and secure your spot today – let’s make this trip one to remember!

Sue’s Kitchen

Sue’s Kitchen will tentatively be reopening on Monday, September 11th. Stay tuned for more information!
